TTV Conditions of Entry

MAXIMUM EVENTS: Please refer to specific event entry forms, but generally a player may play in a maximum of two (2) sequential Division Singles events, and a maximum of two (2) sequential age-limited Singles events and 2 doubles. However, if you enter O/85 Singles, you are permitted to play in three (3) consecutive age-limited singles events.

EQUIPMENT: White plastic ITTF-approved 40+ balls shall be used for all State Tournament Circuit Events.

I.T.T.F. rules will apply to clothing, rackets, gluing, equipment, and control of the tournament. Any query about the legality or acceptability of playing attire shall be decided by the Tournament Referee. Gluing is not permitted within the stadium. The main colour of the clothing shall not be WHITE. Tracksuits are not to be worn without the permission of the referee

TIME OUT RULE: The Time Out Rule shall only apply to the Age Limited Singles events.

REGISTRATIONS: All players must be 2024 registered competition members of TTV, an Affiliated State Association, or an Association Affiliated with ITTF.

REGISTRATIONS: (VIC CLOSED) All players must be 2024 registered competition members of TTV.

REFUSALS OF ENTRY: The (Event) Tournament Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse entry into the tournament by any player. If the (Event) Tournament Committee exercises this option, it will notify the player accordingly and refund any monies paid.

EVENT FORMAT: All matches are the best of five (5) games. All Age-Limited Singles matches will be played in round-robin groups of three (3) with winners advancing to the knockout. All other singles & doubles events will be played as a Knockout (for the avoidance of doubt, this format may only be altered where there are insufficient or unequal numbers in an event).

Events may start earlier than advertised if all players are available at the discretion of the (Event) Tournament Committee.

7 (a)

(SENIORS) All Men's and Women's Open singles matches shall be the best of seven (7) games (excluding round-robin matches).

7 (b)

(SENIORS) PARA SINGLES: Players must have a current national or international physical disability classification for Classes 1 - 11. Depending on entries, players will then be placed into groups of similar disability classes. If you do not have a current classification, please contact the (Event) Tournament Director.

ELIGIBILITY - AGED EVENTS: To play in an aged event where the relevant age is denoted as "under", a player must be under the relevant age as of the 31st December of the previous year in which the event is being held. (Note: age groups for state team selection differs to this and is based on age for events during selection periods as per 8(a) below)
To play in an age event where the relevant age is denoted as "over", a player must be equal to or over the relevant age as of 31st December of the year in which the current selection period ends.

(JUNIOR) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2024 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • U/19 born in 2005 or later
  • U/17 born in 2007 or later
  • U/15 born in 2009 or later
  • U/13 born in 2011 or later
  • U/11 born in 2013 or later
  • U/9 born in 2015 or later

(JUNIOR) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2025 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • U/19 born in 2006 or later
  • U/17 born in 2008 or later
  • U/15 born in 2010 or later
  • U/13 born in 2012 or later
  • U/11 born in 2014 or later
  • U/9 born in 2016 or later

8 (b)

(SENIOR) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2024 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • O/30 born in 1994 or earlier
  • U/21 born in 2003 or later

(SENIOR) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2025 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • O/30 born in 1995 or earlier
  • U/21 born in 2004 or later

(VETS) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2024 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • O/30 born in 1994 or earlier
  • O/40 born in 1984 or earlier
  • O/50 born in 1974 or earlier
  • O/60 born in 1964 or earlier
  • O/65 born in 1959 or earlier
  • O/70 born in 1954 or earlier
  • O/75 born in 1949 or earlier
  • O/80 born in 1944 or earlier
  • O/85 born in 1939 or earlier

(VETS) ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2025 SELECTION PERIOD:

  • O/30 born in 1995 or earlier
  • O/40 born in 1985 or earlier
  • O/50 born in 1975 or earlier
  • O/60 born in 1965 or earlier
  • O/65 born in 1960 or earlier
  • O/70 born in 1955 or earlier
  • O/75 born in 1950 or earlier
  • O/80 born in 1945 or earlier
  • O/85 born in 1940 or earlier

DIVISION EVENTS Are open to players who are eligible to play in an Aged Singles Event on the day of the tournament and not rated above the points stated on the entry form for the particular Division according to Ratings Central Points as of the published closing date for entries.

Any player who has no Ratings Central points or ranking can be allowed to play in Division 1 & 2 events with progress. No age group event is allowed unless there is proof of standard.

This tournament is conducted under TTV By-Laws 2 & 3 - Member Protection and Conduct Regulations that incorporate the provision of the Victorian Government Fair Play Code. It is a condition of entry that all players agree to abide by the TTV regulations and are liable under the regulations for any breaches. The tournament is also run under TTV By-Law 7 regarding the running of tournaments. All players will submit to TTV's jurisdiction with respect to any disciplinary matter that occurs during, or arises out of, this tournament.

All TTV sanctioned tournaments will be subject to filming and photography by participants, coaches, and other approved persons. Participants (parents/guardians of players under age 18) give consent for the entrant to be filmed or photographed.

Any registered TTV member who currently plays in pennant or competition at an unaffiliated body shall be refused entry.

The Tournament Committee, in conjunction with the Referee, shall have sole management of the Championships, and their decisions are final.

The Tournament Committee shall have the power to cancel any event which attracts insufficient entries and to vary any conditions as it may deem necessary. Players entering an event that is cancelled, or for which they are not eligible, will be placed in an alternative event if one is suitable.

SCORESHEETS & UMPIRING: 

  • Upon collecting the score sheet, players should take their opposition and an umpire to the table. 
  • If unable to find an umpire, please report to tournament control immediately. 
  • All players must assist by umpiring when requested. Refusal to umpire upon request from the Referee or tournament control may result in disqualification.
  • Winning players must check, sign, & return the score sheet to the office immediately upon completion of matches. 
  • A maximum 2-minute hit-up is allowed before the commencement of a match.
  • Any player not ready to play when called may be disqualified by the Referee.

REFUNDS & "NO SHOW" POLICY: No refunds shall be allowed to players withdrawing during events. No refunds may be provided when withdrawing after the close of entries. All entry fees must be paid upon entry, otherwise, the player will not be included in the draw.

LATE ENTRIES: Acceptance of late entries is at the discretion of the Tournament Director, but no entry will be accepted after seeding’s have been completed by the State Selection Panel.

PLAYER FORFEIT: In regard to forfeits, this shall be consistent with TV By-Law 16 (Athlete Ratings), Rule 15. Forfeits in finals will not receive Prize Money

The submission of an Entry Form is deemed as acceptance of these Conditions of Entry to the Tournament
