Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO)

Table Tennis Victoria's Member Protection Information Officer is Sarah Pisterman, TTV CEO.

What is an MPIO?

The MPIO is the first point of contact at TTV for anyone who wants to raise a concern or make a complaint about harassment, discrimination, abuse or other inappropriate behaviour in Victorian table tennis.

The MPIO is an impartial person who listens to your concern and helps you find the right place to have it resolved. The MPIO is separate from the people who manage and decide complaints.

What the MPIO does:

• Listens to concerns raised by members, participants, parents and visitors
• Explains your rights, your responsibilities and the options available to you
• Refers your concern to the right person or organisation to resolve it
• Gives you information and support throughout the complaints process
• Treats your concern sensitively and confidentially, except where information must be shared by law or to keep someone safe, such as when a child may be at risk

What the MPIO does not do:

• Handle or decide complaints
• Investigate grievances
• Mediate between members or other parties
• Provide legal advice
