Table Tennis Victoria (TTV) is undertaking a review of the State Team Selection process and the relevant
State Team Selection By-Laws.
The review has identified a number of areas for consideration, including the clarity and consistency of the
current selection framework, the role and weighting of Ratings Central, selector discretion, State Team Points,
tournament loading and exemptions, the appeals process, and the application of the rules across Juniors,
Seniors and Veterans.
The Board has agreed that a focused working group should undertake further consideration of the current
process and develop recommendations for consideration by the Board.
Purpose of the Working Group
The purpose of the State Team Selection Review Working Group is to:
• review the current State Team Selection process and relevant By-Laws;
• consider the issues and reform options identified through the existing review;
• consider the principles that should underpin a fair, transparent, objective and effective State Team Selection process;
• consider whether the selection process should be consistent across Juniors, Seniors and Veterans or whether there are circumstances where different approaches are appropriate;
• consider the current appeals process and opportunities to improve procedural fairness and transparency;
• seek appropriate input from relevant stakeholders, including players, parents, coaches, selectors and clubs; and
• develop recommendations for consideration and decision by the TTV Board.
TTV is seeking expressions of interest from people who can contribute relevant experience, knowledge, and
perspectives to the review.
The Working Group is expected to include a balanced mix of relevant perspectives, which may include:
• TTV Board representation;

• other individuals with relevant expertise or experience in selection, governance or representative sport.
