Victorian Para Hub Coach Jenny Langridge is super excited to share regular updates on Para Table Tennis Events and Training opportunities.

July 9th Update

ITTF International Para Tournament Update:
  • ITTF World Para Future Buenos Aires was held in June & Oli Pizzey Stratford again excelled and continued his fine 2026 form picking up his second international medal reaching the semi-finals in this event. Oli has another International tournament coming up in July in Thailand.
  • ITTF World Para Elite Beijing in June also produced 4 medals from the Victorian athletes Qian Yang (1 silver & 1 bronze) & Lina Lei (2 silvers)
  • ITTF World Para Future & Elite Ratchasima in Thailand from 13-22 July will see a number of our Victorian National & Development Squad members attending in an attempt to get vital competition and ranking points in the lead up to the World Para Championships which will also be held in Thailand later this year
If you haven't had the opportunity to observe International Para Table Tennis before, I strongly encourage you to tune in to the live streaming at these International events - the quality of play is AMAZING!!!

Local Tournaments:
  • The Ballarat Open was held on the 20 June and Adele Pace defeated Thi Doan to take out the Para Singles event
  • The next Tournament with Para Event titles up for grabs will be at the Dandenong Open on 26 July with entries closing on 11 July - click below to enter:
National Para Table Tennis Championships are being held this week in Goulburn. The Team's Event has been completed with Victoria's Chris Addis & Danni Di Toro bringing home Gold in the Class 1-5 Teams and Dylan Nelson & Sam Rizkala winning silver in the Class 6. Upcoming Para Training Sessions & Come & Try Events:
  • There will be an AIS Green & Gold Para Come & Try Event on the 11 July at MSAC 
  • The VIC Para Hub Tournament Playing group has their next scheduled training session scheduled on 18 July at the Mornington Frankston Table Tennis Association at 350 Dunns Road, Mornington from 1:30-4:30 pm - contact Jenny to obtain training sign up link
We are looking for Table Tennis Clubs around Melbourne to put their hand up to co-host a Para Hub Training and Come & Try Session - these events have been successful in linking new Para Table Tennis Athletes in with local clubs.

May 6th Update

ITTF International Para Tournament Update:
  • In April Oli Pizzey Stratford continued his winning form from Spain with another spectacular win in the ITTF World Para Future Santiago reaching the semi-finals and his first ever International podium finish - Well done Oli for that well deserved Bronze Medal
  • Victorian Para Table Tennis Athletes competing Internationally in May include: Danni Di Toro, Nathan Pellisier, Qian Yang, Chris Addis & Evgeny Savinov in fantastic destinations including Montenegro, Slovenia and Taipei. Local Tournaments:
  • The Open Para event at the the TTA Tour Event - Victoria was a round robin with the following results: 1) Adele Pace, 2) Chris Morehead, 3) Evgeny Savinov, & 4) Mark Nimmervoll. This was Adele's first Para event win so huge congratulations to Adele for this.
  • The next Tournament with Para Event titles up for grabs will be at the Ballarat Open on 20 June with entries closing on 6 June - click below to enter:

March 10th Update

ITTF World Para Future - Gold Coast International Tournament:
 
The inaugural IITF World Para Future Event was held on the Gold Coast from the 16-18 February 2026. Victoria fielded 12 of the 25 Australian Para Athletes competing in this International event. For first time participants at this level, it was an opportunity to learn and see for themselves the high level of play at these International Para Events as well as obtaining International Classifications. For the experienced team members, it was a another great opportunity to compete Internationally but this time on home soil.
 
Podium Results for the Victorian Para Athletes at this International Event were:
 
    • John Savinov - Bronze
    • Danni Di Toro - Bronze
    • Nathan Pellissier - Silver
    • Ma Lin - Silver
    • Lina Lei - Gold
    • Qian Yang - Gold
    • Nathan Pellissier (with Ian Kim NSW) - Bronze
 
Croydon Masters Para Open Tournament:
 
The Croydon Masters Para Open Event was held on Monday 9 March and the entry response following recent Para Come and Try Sessions was simply amazing.
 
There were 19 entrants into the Para Event with 11 participating in the Standing Event and 8 in the Wheelchair Event. For 5 of those 19 athletes, this was their first Para Tournament and for another, it was his first Para Tournament in over 10 years.
 
There were highlights aplenty!!!!

February 10th Update

  • On 31 January, we held our first monthly Para Hub Come & Try Session for the year. 13 Para Athletes (new & experienced) came together to train & make new connections.
  • Our next Para Hub Come & Try Session will be at the Croydon & Districts Association on Saturday 21 February from 2:30-4:30. We are looking for Clubs around the Metropolitan area to partner with TTA to host one or more of these monthly training sessions. 
  • The first Para Tournament will be hotly contested this coming weekend at Geelong
  • A large contingent of Victorian Para Athletes will be heading to the Gold Coast shortly to compete in the inaugural ITTF World Para Future - Gold Coast Tournament where they will be not only competing for medals but looking to gain valuable International experience.
