Victorian Juniors Make Their Mark at the 2026 Nationals

The 2026 Junior National Championships wrapped up last week at South Pine Sports Centre in Moreton Bay, Brisbane, from 27 September to 3 October, bringing together some of Australia's best young table tennis players for a week of competition.
With 15 Victorian Junior State Teams competing across the Team Events, Victoria enjoyed a fantastic week on the tables, with plenty of strong performances, team spirit and memorable moments along the way.
Team Events
The Team Events ran from 27–30 September, with the Victorian A Girls' Teams producing a remarkable run of results, winning gold in every age category event.
The Under 17, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 Girls' A Teams all claimed Gold medals, while the Victorian A Boys' Teams also enjoyed a strong Championships, with the Under 17 Boys' A Team taking gold, the Under 15 Boys' A Team claiming silver, and the Under 13 and Under 11 Boys' A Teams securing bronze.

Victorian State Team Manager Frank Pearce highlighted the team’s strong performances and spirit throughout the week.
“What a fantastic week for Victoria at the 2026 National Junior Championships. I’m incredibly proud of what our players achieved, both on and off the table.
“We had some outstanding results across the teams and individual events, but just as importantly, I was proud of the way our players represented Victoria. We wanted to compete hard, support each other, show good sportsmanship and build positive relationships with the other states, and I think the team embraced that brilliantly.
“A huge thank you to our coaches for the energy and care they put into the players throughout the week, and to all the parents and supporters who made it possible.
“There’s a lot to be excited about with this group of young Victorian players, and I’m very proud to have been part of it,” said Pearce.
Interim TTV CEO Sarah Pisterman, who attended the Championships, said: "It was fantastic to be in Brisbane and feel the energy around our Victorian team all week. The players, coaches and parents brought an infectious enthusiasm, and it was great to see our young athletes cheering each other on and celebrating together. It was a wonderful reflection of the community behind Victorian table tennis."

Individual Events
The individual competition followed from 1–3 October, with players continuing to produce some outstanding results across singles and doubles.
In the singles events, Arvin Yeung claimed the Under 17 Boys' Singles title, while Qinle Alice Xia, Kavyaa Madaan, Alyssa Yeung and Akira Duggal each took out their respective girls' singles age categories.
There were also strong performances throughout the doubles events, with Qinle Alice Xia and Aradhya Dhingra winning Under 17 Girls' Doubles, Kavyaa Madaan and Coral Zhao taking Under 15 Girls' Doubles, and Lydia Tran and Ariel Li claiming the Under 13 Girls' Doubles title.
In the mixed doubles, Adeepa Keerthiratne and Qinle Alice Xia, and Aradhya Dhingra and Oscar Pan claimed Under 17 and Under 15 gold respectively, while Ariel Li and Oscar Pan also finished on top in the Under 13 Mixed Doubles.
Further medals were secured across the singles and doubles events, with Aaron Nguyen, Arvin Yeung, Coral Zhao, Kavyaa Madaan, Qinle Alice Xia, Zihui Rose Wang, Flynn Wang, Hanrui Hayden Chen, Maya Madaan and Akira Duggal among those to finish on the podium.
