VALE DON CHEYNE

Table Tennis Victoria is deeply saddened by the passing of Don Cheyne.

Don recently received a 50-year service award for all of his hard work and dedication to table tennis which, Table Tennis Australia were fortunate to to sit down and have a chat with Don about his journey in table tennis late last year.

Running the Monday night Recreational Table Tennis sessions at St Ninnians Hall in Orchard Grove, Blackburn South and for the past 10 years at St Johns Table Tennis Club in Forest Hill, Don would always raise funds to cover costs of buying tables, equipment, balls and venue hire. Any money that was made, Don would donate it all directly to charity at the end of the year.

Don was always there to have a chat and instil self-belief and confidence into those around him.

A man who conducted himself in the best of ways, and an example for all to follow, he will be sorely missed.
