Table Tennis Victoria invites Melbourne’s west to Take it to the Table

28 August 2023

Table Tennis Victoria is encouraging Melbourne’s west to start practicing to Take it to the Table with a pop-up ping pong event coming to the fun and social setting of Grazeland in October.

To be held on Friday 6,  Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October, the Take it to the Table: Pop-Up Ping Pong event will cater to everything from beginners to regular Ping Pong players.

With eight tables set up across the venue, there will be demonstrations from some of the biggest names in table tennis and maybe even some of your favourite Melbourne celebrities. You’ll also be able to get some advice on your game from table tennis coaches plus try a range of fun table tennis activities.

The event is being made possible thanks to support from the Victorian Government and being run in partnership with Pongo World, Grazeland and the Hobsons Bay City Council.

We encourage everyone in Melbourne’s west and beyond to come and have a hit on a Pongo World outdoor table surrounded by great food and entertainment. This is the best way to experience table tennis no matter your ability!

Table Tennis Victoria CEO Gen Dohrmann can’t wait to host this event for the community:

“We know that so many Victorians have an affinity to table tennis so we look forward to seeing as many people as possible come down and have a hit at Grazeland.”

“If you think you’re pretty good at ping-pong in the garage or against mates at the pub then it’s time for you to take it to the table and come down to our competition at Grazeland!”

Grazeland Director John Forman has expressed his excitement stating:

“We are excited to partner with Pongo World and Table Tennis Victoria for the upcoming Pop-Up Ping Pong Event at Grazeland.”

“Grazeland is a foodies, entertainment playground with over 50 food and beverage options and two live entertainment stages which attracts thousands of attendees every weekend.”

“Ping Pong take it to the table weekend will be a huge drawcard with plenty of Ping Pong tables on site for all to play.”

The Co-Founder of Pongo Jack Ryan is also thrilled about the opportunity to display Pongo’s wonderful all-weather tables mentioning that:

"We know that our Melbourne-Made All-Weather Ping Pong Tables are unique and Take it to the Table will be our biggest outdoor event for the Ping Pong loving community ever!”

“We are bringing some of our latest vibrant designs never seen before and partnering with Table Tennis Victoria to bring the event to life.”

"Play some Ping Pong against mates, family or new friends all while sampling some of the best food and drink Melbourne has to offer at Grazeland. You don't need to be highly skilled; this is about FUN!"

The event will run from the 6th to the 8th of October at Grazeland, 20 Booker Street, Spotswood, Victoria, 3015. The event will be running 5:00 PM-10:00 PM on the Friday, and 12:00 PM- 06:00 PM on the Saturday and Sunday.

Entry to Grazeland is $4.00 per person. Carers accompanying a person with a disability will not be charged an entry fee. A valid companion card must be shown.
