Time to take your talents to Bendigo!

The Bendigo Junior, Senior/Veterans open is taking place this weekend at the Bendigo & District Table Tennis Stadium on May 6-7.

The Juniors will kick proceedings off with 87 entries, an increase from 2022 levels.

There will be some fresh faces to keep an eye on, with Aviraj Singh, Izac Ooi and Oscar Teakle all eager to take out the U/19 Boy’s singles with the likes of Victoria Zhang and Yuhan Li eyeing off the U/19 Girl’s Singles.

Other young talent to watch out for is Swetha Sundaresan, Lydia Tran, Maggie Lyu and Aaron Nguyen who will all be keen to take home some medals in their respective categories.

The Seniors, Para and Veterans will finish off the weekend with 105 entries, the first time it is being run together with a record number of entries.

Zach Anstey is one to watch after his Division 1 win at the Victorian Open, as well as Craig Carter who will be looking to take out the Open Men’s Singles.

Belinda Strong, Jeff Dever, Bob Bozelle and Judy James will also be looking for success in their respective categories.

"Following the years of Covid disruption it with great pleasure we welcome players again to Bendigo for a great Tournament and to experience all things that Bendigo has to offer,” said BDTTA President Gary Warnest.

“Just a reminder that both the Bendigo Tournaments have full canteen support for all day snacks and lunches including barista coffee."

Play begins at 9:00am on both days and is free entry for anyone who wishes to watch some exciting table tennis.
