2026 Croydon Masters Open Review

Published Thu 12 Mar 2026

Over the weekend, the Croydon & Districts Table Tennis Association hosted the Croydon Masters Championships, featuring events across the Junior, Youth, Para, Veteran and Open categories.

With 410 entries, the tournament became the largest three-day event on the Victorian tournament circuit in many years. The Veterans competition alone attracted 178 entries, making it the second-largest Veterans tournament in Victorian history, behind only the 2014 Croydon Veterans Tournament.

Tournament Director Greg Bristowe said, “It was great to see so many players come out and support our tournament. While the Veterans tournament was a long day, it was expected with the number of players.

It was also fantastic to see Croydon’s Dillon Chambers win his second Croydon singles title, while Larisa Li outlasted Coral Zhao in a hard-fought seven-game match” added Bristowe.

Victorian Para Hub Coach Jenny Langridge shared her excitement about the event stating “There were 19 entrants into the Para Event with 11 participating in the Standing Event and 8 in the Wheelchair Event. For 5 of those 19 athletes, this was their first Para Tournament and for another, it was his first Para Tournament in over 10 years.”

“Watching the new players welcomed into the Para Fold & thoroughly enjoying their experiences and asking when they can play next was awesome” added Langridge.

The Association would also like to thank the many volunteers who assisted throughout the weekend: Chunting Li, Tamanna Duggal, Kennix Yeung, Claire Montgomery, Frank Pearce, Mel Haughton, Peter Fung, and Mark Bristowe. Support on tournament software was provided by Kameron Chan, Graeme Ireland, and Greg Bristowe.

A special thank you also goes to ICC Academy for providing additional tables and barriers, and to Kilsyth Basketball for allowing the use of their basketball courts, enabling the tournament to operate with an impressive 33-court setup.

Full Finalist list coming soon.
