2025 Veterans National Championships Review

The 2025 National Veterans Championships took place from the 18th – 25th of October at the South Pine Indoor Sports Centre in Moreton Bay, Queensland.

This year saw hundreds of competitors come from Australia and New Zealand, to come together for an entire week of competition, and celebration of Veterans’ table tennis. Teams from every state and territory participated, along with international representation from New Zealand.

TTV Participation & Marketing Officer Noah Newnham was in attendance for a portion of the event and shared “It was an incredible to watch our Veterans State Team in Queensland. The standard of play across the week was elite in all categories. Seeing our Victorian squad come together, both on and off the table was something very special to witness.” 

Firstly, the Teams competition began with all of our teams ready to compete and each state ready to showcase their depth across all divisions!

Individual Highlights: 

In the Women’s divisions, Lydia Liu claimed a silver medal in the Over 30 Women’s Singles. 

In the Men’s divisions, Craig Carter claimed Silver in the Over 30 Men’s Singles, while David Segal also claimed Silver in the Over 50 Men’s Singles. 

Scott Huang added to the Victorian silverware, claiming Second Place in the Over 60 Men’s singles tournament, with Mick Wright achieving Gold in the Over 80 Men’s Singles!
