Published Mon 20 Oct 2025

The 2025 S-Trend Victorian Closed Junior/Senior/Para Championships were held at MSAC over the weekend with the Senior & Para championships on Saturday and the Junior events on the Sunday.

With over 250 competitors taking part, it was a massive weekend of fierce competition across all events.

TTV CEO Gen Dohrmann reflected on thebroad community impact of the event stating: “It’s fantastic to see so many Victorian players of all ages and abilities stepping up to compete. Events like this are at the heart of our sport’s growth and vibrancy.”

Congratulations to all champions, finalists, and participants - from the youngest Under 9 to the para singles stars. The weekend highlighted the strength of Victorian table tennis and offered a strong platform from which the sport can continue to grow.

In the Men’s Singles, we saw a 5 set showdown between Dillon Chambers and Yousef Hassan, with Dillon taking home the title after a dominant showing throughout the event.

In the Women’s Singles final, Alice Xia beat Kavyaa Madaan 4-0 after winning an intense 7 set semifinal with Riti Shankar.

Also on the Saturday was the Para Singles, with Oli Pizzey Stratford winning 4-0 in the Wheelchair singles group. In the Standing category Chester Gracias was victorious over Jake Ballestrino winning 3-1 in the final.

On Sunday, Zhongye Alex Huang took down Aaron Nguyen in the U/19 Boy's Singles Final, while Qinle Alice Xia got the better of Kavyaa Madaan once again winning 3-1 in the U/19 Girl's Singles Final.

Looking ahead, refining the event experience and building upon the visibility of para and junior ranks will help the next iteration of this Championships be even stronger.
