2023 Yarrawonga Senior/Junior Open Review

Published Tue 22 Aug 2023

The 2023 Yarrawonga Senior & Junior Open was played last weekend with Saturday hosting the Seniors and Sunday for the Juniors. It was great to see well over 100 entries for the tournament, marking a record number of entries for a Yarrawonga Open tournament.

Yarrawonga/Mulwala Table Tennis Association President and Tournament Director John Wright had some praise to share for the tournament:

“It was amazing, the best open that we have held in 3-4 years. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and it all ran ahead of time which was great to see. “

“The Juniors were all really excited to have trophies and prize money which was really nice to be a part of.”

“Big thanks to Gary and Ken who were fantastic throughout the weekend, along with Helen Pottage and everyone else involved in making the weekend really enjoyable and successful.”

Saturday hosted the Seniors with some intense matches being played across the board. Craig Carter edged out Max Geering in a fierce matchup winning 4-2 in a best of 7 to claim the Open Men’s Singles title. Div Mallya took home the Open Women’s Singles defeating Helen Pottage 4-0. Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up as seen below.
