2021 TTV Country & Metro Championships Update

Published Thu 03 Jun 2021

Due to the current lockdown and expected restrictions on travel over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend advised by the State Government, the 2021 Victorian Country Championships and the 2021 Victorian Metro Championships, have been postponed with new dates scheduled under a revised format.

2021 Victorian Country Championships

Original dates:   12-14 June 2021

New dates:         31 July – 1 August 2021

The TTV Victorian Country Championships (commonly known as Country Week) have been postponed until the weekend of 31 July & 1 August.

This date was selected due to a combination of factors including:

  • Venue availability (availability of both halls at MSAC)
  • Weekend availability (regarding the State tournament calendar)
  • Time of the year (to avoid regional farming commitments & school exams)
  • Staffing/administrator availability (Tournament Director, assistants, etc)

As it will now be over two days rather than the traditional three, we will be adopting a similar format to the NSW Country Championships with x3 rounds played on Saturday, and x2 rounds played on Sunday with Individuals in the evening.

At the time of writing, the teams entered, and the draws published will remain the same.

We will revisit this at the start of July in conjunction with the Country Affiliates.

2021 Victorian Metro Championships

Original dates:   12-13 June 2021

New dates:         6-7 November 2021

The TTV Victorian Metro Championships have been postponed until November 6th and 7th 2021.

This date was selected due to a combination of factors including:

  • Volunteer availability (of Croydon)
  • Weekend availability (regarding the tournament calendar).

The format of the Metro Championships will remain the same.

Regarding the teams and draws, the Metro committee will be in contact with the competing Metro Affiliates directly.
