Raj Datta

Raj is well known within the table tennis community, with over 30 years of active involvement as a player and dedicated supporter of junior, senior, veteran, and high-performance programs. 
 
Professionally, Raj brings extensive global business development experience, playing a key role growing a small engineering firm into an industry leader over the past 24 years. His strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical acumen, combined with a long-standing passion for table tennis and a firm commitment to the sport’s growth and sustainability, positions him well to provide strategic leadership as Chair of Table Tennis Victoria.
 
 

Molina Asthana

Deputy Chair (until Oct 2027)

Molina has been on the TTV board for over 4 yeara and is a highly accomplished professional with a Masters of Commercial Law, a Bachelor of Commerce and Law and a Diploma in Corporate Laws and Management.

As the founder of ‘Multicultural Women in Sport,’ she is a champion for diversity and inclusion in sports. Molina also brings significant governance experience, having served as a board member or ambassador for numerous organisations, including Cricket Australia, Commonwealth Games Australia, and Gymnastics Victoria. She also serves on the Australian Sports Commission Playwell Leadership Group.Her expertise and vision will be invaluable in shaping TTV’s strategic direction.

 

Daniel Moloney

Meredith Kelly

Elected Director (until 2026 AGM)

Meredith has a long and extensive history of experience with Sport Australia as a professional sports administrator across numerous key areas. Her current role with Sport Australia has seen her design and deliver a sport infrastructure strategy and investment framework for the organization. Before this, she managed a wide range of projects in the Sporting Schools program, engaging with more than 5,500 schools and 850,000 students across the country.

  • 20 years’ experience with Sport Australia (Previously Australian Sports Commission)
  • Designed and delivered the $100m Community Sport Infrastructure (CSI) grant program
  • NSO experience with Cricket Australia
  • Bachelor of Arts (English & History), Postgraduate Diplomas in both Education and Sports Management
  • Level 1 National Coach Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) qualifications in AFL, Cricket and Netball

 

Anthony Majtlis

Elected Director (Until 2028 AGM)

• Played competitive table tennis for over 15 years

• Multifaceted professional with extensive experience in portfolio analytics, product management, commercial underwriting, claims management, and reinsurance

• Strong multidisciplinary background with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering and Economics from Monash University

• Proven history of working across various industries, including insurance, oil & gas, retail, engineering consulting, and coaching

• Possessing strong analytical skills and a passion for tackling complex data challenges

• Enthusiastic about technology, table tennis and mental health advocacy

 

Rhys Thomas

Elected Director (Until 2027 AGM)

Since moving to Melbourne in 2017, Rhys has been actively involved in the Victorian table tennis community. He served as President of Melbourne University Table Tennis Club in 2018 and regularly participates in table tennis events and competitions across the state. This has included representing Victoria at the 2022 National Senior Championships. Rhys' exposure to the sport means he understands the opportunities and challenges facing table tennis in Victoria. Rhys is hopeful he can use this exposure, along with his working background in law and public policy, to find new ways to build participation and engagement to enable the sport to grow. 

 

Agni Usha Vaitheeswaran

Appointed Director (Until Dec 2025)

Agni is deeply committed to table tennis, having started playing the sport at the age of 5 and representing her home state and country in India before continuing to play for Victoria when she migrated to Australia. Her dedication to table tennis has been unwavering, and she volunteered as an Accountant at Table Tennis Victoria between 2011-12, where she gained valuable insights into the inner workings of the organisation. Agni also brings over 12 years of experience in finance to the Board and is currently Head of Finance and Reporting at legalsuper. As part of her career in finance, she has gained a deep understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a board and how a business operates. Agni’s drive to be on the board stems from her desire to merge her financial expertise with her passion for table tennis. 

 

Heba Elakwah

Elected Director (Until 2026 AGM)

Heba is a distinguished professional with over 35 years of experience in the table tennis domain across three countries: Australia, Egypt, and Qatar. Her illustrious career commenced as a member of Egypt's National Team, where she refined her skills and subsequently transitioned into coaching. As an Australian Level 2 certified coach, Heba has played a pivotal role in nurturing talent and has notably participated as Victoria State Team coach. 

In addition to her expertise in table tennis, Heba has exhibited exceptional financial acumen as a Finance Manager, adeptly managing budgets for Victoria government. Her financial proficiency extends to multinational corporations, where she has expertly navigated the fiscal complexities of the PacRim, China, and Japan regions. With a strong aptitude for strategic planning and data analysis.
