With 16 teams entered equalling 80 participants involved, it eclipsed the 2022 number of entrants, taking up all the tables at MSAC for a day of fun, health and wellness.

The day kicked off at 2:00pm with a welcome by TTV CEO Gen Dohrmann followed by a briefing of the tournament by Participation & Marketing Officer James Maxwell.

Some of the businesses who entered included:

  • Goldwind Australia
  • The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM)
  • CSIRO
  • Vitality Brands Worldwide
  • ELMO Software
  • Sports Accounting Australia
  • Infosys
  • Sportscover Australia
  • Badminton Australia
  • Dohrmann Consulting

Teams competed in three rounds of round robin competition, followed by three rounds of finals, consisting of two doubles and one singles match per round.

Coming into the finals, it was to be fought out by CSIRO, Infosys 2, BOM and MSAC.

At the completion of the finals round, it ended in a 3-way tie with CSIRO, Infosys 2 and BOM all finishing on two wins each.

After a countback of how many sets each team won, CSIRO were crowned the winners of the day, edging out Infosys 2 by one set!

It was a great day of table tennis, capped off by a networking function at the end, giving a chance for the businesses to network and reminisce on the days play.

“It was fantastic to have MSAC packed, with all tables in use, seeing corporates battling it out and enjoying some friendly competition,” said TTV CEO Gen Dohrmann.

“To have 16 teams, a goal we thought we wouldn’t reach be hit this year was incredible. Its great to see corporate companies seeing the social benefits it has for their employees, to get them out of the office having a hit of table tennis.”

Table Tennis Victoria would like to thank all the businesses for entering and competing on the day and to our intern Aman Singhal for entering scores and results across the day.

We cannot wait for our next Corporate Cup happening on Friday November 10. Stay tuned for more details of this on our Corporate Cup page here.
