Empowering Future Leaders: The 2024 TTV Junior Leaders Program in Partnership with Infosys
Published Thu 15 May 2025
In a landmark initiative for the development of youth leadership in table tennis, Table Tennis Victoria (TTV), in collaboration with Infosys, proudly delivered the 2024 Junior Leaders Program. This inspiring program was designed to nurture and empower the next generation of leaders in the sport, equipping young athletes with the tools, confidence, and experience to make a lasting impact within their clubs and communities.
The program officially launched on October 3rd at the state-of-the-art Infosys Living Labs, a venue that instantly set the tone for innovation and inspiration. Infosys generously opened the doors to its cutting-edge technology, immersing the Junior Leaders in a futuristic experience. Highlights included playing virtual reality tennis against global superstars—on the moon—and discovering the creative potential of Infosys' Wongdoody design studio. These moments sparked curiosity and encouraged out-of-the-box thinking—traits that are essential for great leadership.
Mentorship was at the heart of the program. Guided by experienced leaders, participants engaged in a dynamic and supportive environment where they explored their strengths, built confidence, and developed practical leadership skills. These sessions laid the groundwork for their individual journeys, providing both theoretical insight and real-world inspiration.
After absorbing these lessons, the Junior Leaders had the chance to return to the sport they love—this time with a new perspective. They demonstrated their table tennis skills and then reflected in group discussions, exploring ideas for how they could actively contribute to positive change in their clubs.
One of the standout elements of the program was a club impact project. Each participant was required to identify a specific way they could improve their local club environment. To do this, they interviewed a club committee member, gaining insight into leadership roles and the inner workings of community sport. These conversations became the foundation for meaningful, hands-on projects designed to address real needs in their home clubs.
At the program’s graduation ceremony, our three outstanding Junior Leaders presented their final projects:
-
Immanuel Mullapudi was the first to take the stage with a marketing project tailored to his club Greater Dandenong Table Tennis Association, showcasing creative and strategic thinking aimed at growing engagement and visibility through his creation of a GDTTA YouTube channel.
-
Louisa Fung followed up with a project focused on Croydon, demonstrating her passion and drive to recruit new members and players to the support using marketing posters.
-
Gavin Li was the last one to take the stage. His thoughtful presentation reflected on his training trip to China and set a high standard for what leadership can look like in action.
The ceremony concluded with a well-deserved round of applause for Gavin, Immanuel and Louisa. Their projects are more than just assignments—they are the first steps in what promises to be a bright future of leadership within Victorian table tennis.
As the 2024 Junior Leaders Program wraps up, TTV extends its deepest thanks to Infosys for their invaluable partnership and vision. Together, we are building not just better players, but stronger communities—and future leaders who will carry the sport forward.
We look forward to welcoming the next generation of Junior Leaders later this year.
